What does
ODBCFace do?
ODBCFace is an ETL tool (Extraction,
Transformation, and Loading).
However, the transformation platform for ODBCFace is Microsoft®
Excel therefore, it should be regarded as an EXL tool (Extraction,
Excel and Loading).
ODBCFace completely removes the need to learn the ins and
outs of an ETL tool by using your current working knowledge of
Microsoft®
Excel with it's thousands of transformation formulas.
ODBCFace is an Excel Add-in that allows ERP users to upload and
download information between Excel and ERP system, legacy databases or
XML
data providers with
"canned" scripts. Using a simple scripting language, an option
can be added to the Excel menu bar. Additionally, you can embed SQL statements and
map Excel cells (or named ranges) to fields in ERP systems, legacy
databases or XML pages.

FREE
online demo of ODBCFace
In minutes we will show you how easy it should be
to transform a manual process into an integrated flow of information to
and from
your ERP or legacy system.
An example of ODBCFace usage is a client
that retrieves data from his legacy system and transfers it
into an excel workbook. ODBCFace analyzes the spreadsheet,
converts dates to J. D. Edwards® Julian format, extends the amount
fields and parses together some fields such as ANI (concatenation of cost
center account and subsidiary like in MCU.OBJ.SUB). Then ODBCFace uploads the data to
the F0411Z1 and F0911Z1 (J. D. Edwards® batch upload files)
and calls the J. D. Edwards® Z1 dream writer process to post the uploaded batch. In a production environment, this same concept can be implemented for
all available Z1 processes (J. D. Edwards® batch upload
techniques). ODBCFace has been used successfully to
handle master tables maintenance, currency translations, bank reconciliation's, forecast
corrections, budget processing, expense reports and much more.
Fast track your data conversion process by
unleashing the power of Excel. A simple conversion script
that could download your Item Master File from your legacy system and then
maintain your F4101 file can be built from the
ODBCFace wizard in a matter of seconds. The
end users are able to view, massage and manipulate their data with the
tool they are most comfortable with: Excel. Since ODBCFace is able
to inquire, add, change and delete, the repetitive process of data conversion
is a snap with ODBCFace.
ODBCFace is the only
ETL tool that does not require you to go through the learning curve of
an ETL tool. |
